Burlington Geographic explores the unfolding story of the landscape and community of Burlington, Vermont. As part of the PLACE Program (Place-based Landscape Analysis & Community Engagement)—a collaborative initiative of the University of Vermont and Shelburne Farms—Burlington Geographic brings together community members, educators, students, city departments, businesses, and non-profit organizations to explore the natural and cultural history of Vermont's largest city.

Landscapes are inherently complex systems, so we begin our exploration of Burlington by using three different lenses: the physical landscape, the cultural landscape, and the ecological landscape. Within each of these, we dig deeper into the stories of people, geology, plants, animals, and more.
